Episode: PSP #356: Switch - or die trying, Battle Princess Madelyn, and Hidden Folks ( 0 MB / 0:00)

"Switch - or die trying...to get a Switch...am I right, or am I right," Marc says in an awful attempt to be cute or something like that. Despite having no plans to talk about the Nintendo Switch on today's show, Marc starts off with way more Switch talk than anyone wants before eventually hitting the real meat and potatoes of today's show: reviews of Switch - or die trying and Hidden Folks, and an early preview of Battle Princess Madelyn, currently on Kickstarter (and already funded; congrats!). So if you can endure the beginning nonsense and manage to not switch off show, enjoy the pitter-pattering of Marc's voice as they talk about some great and not-so-great indie games. Welcome to the city of Machi Koro, the Japanese card game that is sweeping the world. You've just been elected Mayor. Congrats! Unfortunately the citizens have some pretty big demands: jobs, a theme park, a couple of cheese factories and maybe even a radio tower. A tough proposition since the city currently consists of a wheat field, a bakery and a single die. Armed only with your trusty die and a dream, you must grow Machi Koro into the largest city in the region. You will need to collect income from developments, build public works and steal from your neighbor's coffers. Just make sure they aren't doing the same to you! Machi Koro is a fast-paced light-hearted game for you and up to 3 friends. Once you've had a taste of Machi Koro, this infectiously fun game may have you wondering if the dinner table ever served another purpose. They say you can't build Rome in a day, but Machi Koro will be built in less than 30 minutes!

Episode: 2d4g 31: Eldritch Fingers (Pointing Fingers) ( 44.82 MB / 52:26)

Travis went thrifting and brought us back something called Pointing Fingers, from Hasbro. Guess we have to play it.

Pointing Fingers is a game that alleges to be a "hilarious game of who did what." We found it to be more of a very bad, boring game that inspires discourse on the proper useage of modal verbs, and difficult and terrifying metaphysical thought experiments. I certainly won't spoil anything for you, dear listener, but I'll just leave an image of the box art below and you can guess if Hasbro's assertions about its game are correct.
